Mama dropped by on her way down to SD, turns out it was her birthday too! We picked up ice cream cake from BR and surprised her – definitely a fun evening. Art and Mariane were there to share in the fun and you know the girls love ice cream cake.
Deanne made a delicious Irish meal as we were celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little early. Roasted potatoes, Corned beef and cabbage. Very good.
Lots of things are happening on the music front. I am working with a decent young drummer from Corona named Paul Zimmer. Gina and I did a gig out at a local restaurant and threw him into the mix – it went pretty well, we’ll need to work on communication. He also plays keyboards, does some programming and is very good with live sound so he adds a lot of value to what we are doing. There is also the possibility that Chris Joyner will be able to add some harmonica or accordion to the mix, which would be welcome.
The aforementioned gig went okay. Gina was playing percussion and gyil, I was playing Stick and Paul was playing drums. I am hoping that we will be able to add Gina’s TrapKat and Paul’s keyboard for our show on Friday, April 16 at the Merc.
